The University of Illinois Alumni Club of Washington DC is proud to honor Evan Glazer, principal of Thomas Jefferson High School (located in Alexandria, VA) as our 2010 Illini of the Year! Dr. Glazer earned his bachelor's degree in 1993 and his master's degree in math education in 1994 from the University of Illinois, and later earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Georgia. Shortly after Dr. Glazer became its Principal, in 2007, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology was ranked the #1 high school in the country. He encourages the students and faculty to pursue their passions so they can do extraordinary things, and he expects them to change the world.
