Networking Reception with LAS Students
You're Invited to a Networking Event with Illinois Students on a Spring Break Career Trek!
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) invites you to participate in a networking event with twelve Illinois undergraduates visiting Washington, D.C. during their spring break. The students are enrolled in LAS in D.C.: Exploring Careers in Government - a new career development course offered by LAS to encourage students to consider careers in the nation's capital.
The Networking Event will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at a venue very close to Capitol Hill. The event will be an opportunity for the students to network in a small group setting with Illinois alums. A networking activity is planned to pair two alums and two students together with guiding questions. Pairs will then rotate throughout the evening. Appetizers will be served and there will be time for open networking.
Update: registration is now closed as we have met the maximum of 12 alumni for the event.
The students, mostly sophomores and juniors, are a multidisciplinary group. Majors include Political Science, Economics, Global Studies, Spanish, Atmospheric Sciences, Environmental Science, Psychology, Latino/a Studies, and English. Thank you to Illinois alumni scheduled to host the group for work site visits to the FBI, the Raben Group, Congress, CSPAN, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Justice. The students are excited to meet as many Illini as they can during their six day trip to Washington March 19-25.
