Dr. Glazer earned his bachelor's degree in 1993 and his master's degree in math education in 1994 from the University of Illinois, and later earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Georgia. Shortly after Dr. Glazer became its Principal, in 2007, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology was ranked the #1 high school in the country and has been ranked #1 every year since. He encourages the students and faculty to pursue their passions so they can do extraordinary things, and he expects them to change the world. His philosophy about leadership and education has brought more recognition.

"The University of Illinois was a place where I went to get a good education at an affordable price, enjoy social life in a fraternity, and have the option to miss classes in Foellinger Auditorium without detriment.  A liberal arts education involved a wide array of choices that did not have any apparent cohesion, but somehow I still managed to meet the right people at the right time.  Was it stumbling upon luck or an environment that subtly nurtured innovation?" Dr. Glazer will elaborate on these comments of his during his remarks at the luncheon.
