Race for the Cure
Sign up today to run or walk with Team Illini in the 5K Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!
Join the DC Illini Club as we participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Washington DC's National Mall. Race for the Cure is part of a global movement to end breast cancer. Each summer, Team Illini puts on their orange and runs in honor of the late Jan Mulvaney, a dedicated DC Illini board member, DC Illini past president, and UIAA secretary, who recently lost her life to breast cancer. Up to 75 percent of the money raised by the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure stays in the D.C. area to fund screening, treatment and education programs through the National Capital Area Grant Program. The remaining dollars support the Global Promise Fund, reaching underserved people in areas where breast cancer mortality rates are the highest. All team members should wear orange and blue or Illini gear, but can choose to walk or run during the race.
