Come experience an inside tour of this legendary market on a private DC Illini tour! You will have the opportunity to meet the long standing vendors and taste their specialties which include many local products produced and grown in the DC area. Eastern Market - the longest running public market in Washington DC - is the oldest continuously running food market in the Washington, DC area, still serving its original function as a public market. Eastern Market has been the center of life within Capitol Hill for over 200 years.
The Food Tour may include the following specialties:
* Regional and international Cheese
* Artisan Bread
* Spanish Empanadas
* Locally Grown Fruit
* DC Half Smokes
* Homemade Kimchi
* Turkey Jerky
* French Pate
* Mamma's Baklava, Cheese pie, and stuffed dates
* Traditional Eastern European Jewish Desserts
After the tour, you will understand the importance of Eastern Market within Capitol Hill as well as Washington DC. All dishes served are included in the tour. Enough food is served that for most participants, dinner afterwards will not be needed.

We will be departing the Eastern Market Metro promptly at 3:15 for the tour with commences at 3:30pm and ends at 5:00pm.
