Illini Game Watching

Washington-area Fighting Illini fans gather for every football game and nearly every basketball game to cheer on their favorite team.  Following a disappointing 2008 campaign, Ron Zook and the football team try to return to a bowl game for the second time in Zook's five-year stint with the school.  Bruce Weber and the basketball team will try to build on a surprisingly successful 2008-09 season, looking to make a deeper run in the Tournament by taking advantage of one of the strongest recruiting classes in recent memory.

The University of Illinois DC Alumni Club has settled on a new home for its game watches: Molly Malone's in the Capitol Hill neighborhood!  They've got good food, good drink, and a good atmosphere.  Although a couple other alumni clubs do gather there for Saturday football, they have the flexibility and capacity to show every Illinois football and basketball game.  Located at 713 8th St., SE, it is in the district and accessible to those living outside the district, as it is only a few blocks from the Eastern Market Metro station on the Orange and Blue lines (it's obviously destined to be an Illini bar!).  Head over for this season's football and basketball games and help christen Molly Malone's as the DC Home of the Illini!  If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail Brad Sauer at bsauer2@gmail.comOskee-Wow-Wow!
